Darwin-Katherine-Timber Creek

Hi everyone, we are now in Timber Creek, a tiny place not to far from the WA-NT border. After we left Darwin we had 3 nights back at Katherine, then left this morning, about a 4 hour trip through some amazing countryside.  Below are some photos from the past week. Below is the Darwin Wave Pool, that's me on the pink ring, having a ball!

New signage on the van-wheel cover & to the top right our names & UHF channel number. Not to mention the T Shirt! Mine is white with red writing, we look like Kath & Kel!

More of Beautiful Darwin

Hi everyone, bit of a long blog tonight- we have been busy for the last few days.  We are really enjoying Darwin. Yesterday we a had a visit to our van from the fellow below!

Pictures below of the Darwin Military Museum. They had a great sound & film show called "The Defence of Darwin".

View to the wharf (where we had lunch a few days ago) It is safe to swim in this lagoon

Next to the lagoon is this fantastic Wave Pool- we are looking foward to having a swim there soon

Today we went to the fish feeding centre (below)- stacks of fun.  I actually patted a fish! They come to the edge of the bay at high tide & swim around your feet (I guess they have no sense of smell!)

Darwin Aviation Museum-I am standing next to a B52 bomber, only 1 of 2 on display in the world. The pictures don't really show how massive this plane is-it's wing spans take up the whole hanger & virtually every other plane on display is under the wings of it. The museum is next to the RAAF Airbase & while we were there about 7 military jets took off, just screaming into the sky. It made the experience of looking at planes in the museum far more real. It was donated to the Museum by the American Airforce and renamed "Darwin's Pride"

Tonight we went to the Sunset Market at Mindil beach- huge amount of food stalls from stacks of different countries, especially Asia. A really lovely evening & great atmosphere.  Temp 26 degrees.

Goodnight!
