Goondiwindi

On the road to Goondiwindi, pronounced GUNdiwindi, locally known as "Gundi".  It is on the banks of the Macintyre river which forms the border between NSW & QLD.  The name comes from an aboriginal name  meaning " The Resting Place Of  The Birds' due to the river nearby.

Stock on the road heading north

2 nights at Dubbo caravan park, having fun on the jumping pillow
Goondiwindi  caravan park, thermal pool 39 degrees water temp with bubbles!

Statue of Gunsynd , famous racehorse from Gundi
 Old bridge over river
Happy hour at the park, Damper & snags around the fire

Apparently the oldest pub in QLD according to the sign on the wall, however another pub here which the photo of which Graeme managed to delete also has this claim
 Historic cemetery in Gundi
I found this site quite sad as the inscription has been totally worn away and the headstone has quite a lean.  Who ever this is RIP
The beautiful Victoria Hotel, recently renovated.
Anglican Church with beautiful stained glass windows
