Biloela, QLD. 150kms from Rockhampton . Aboriginal for " Land of the White Cockatoo"

Hello everyone, we have been at this little town for a few days, nothing much here except farming & a coal fired powered station & coal mine. In fact when we went to Visitor Information, the man there suggested we might like to drive past the meatworks!  I could hardly keep a straight face.  The park we are staying in is pretty basic but there are peacocks which are very pretty.  Photos below of them around our van.

Mural depicting towns history on the water supply tank

One interesting part of the mural depicted women off to vote for the first time.  An extract from the Courier Mail dated 1/9/ 1900 read "Suppose she thinks for herself?  Over the dinner table wife is to quarrel with her husband and sister with brother.Political factions is to divide the home and drive man's helpmeet from his side-in the end it will be for evil"

Additional arguments why women shouldn't vote:
Smaller brains means less intellectual capacity
 Only ugly women would vote
Women were wowsers and would ban racing, hunting, football & soldiers
Decent women would not vote because they would not want to reveal their age.
