Hi everyone, a busy day today! We visited the Tenterfield Railway museum, opened in 1886. When the line was completed to the border in 1888, Sydney & Brisbane were linked for the first time, although the 2 states had different rail gauges & goods & people had to be offloaded at the border. It was closed in 1989, a real shame. We have seen hundreds of Kms of closed tracks on our travels, which it sad. We also went to the Henry Parkes Museum, & a bush drive that saw us ending up in QLD ( by accident!)
This sign reads "Last Tenterfield Mail, Victim of rail mismanagement & Govt incompetence. RIP 25/11/88." It was attached the the engine of the last train, but was removed at the next stop.

Two markers with the dates 18/9/13 & 15/9/13
"Graeme are you SURE this line is closed?"

We also visited the Henry Parkes Museum, so called "Father of Federation" after his speech in this building in 1889 calling for the Colonies to unite.

After the Museum visits, went for a drive on some backroads. Didn't realise we were about to cross the border! This is now the official photo of Ginny on her first ever visit to QLD!
