Naracoorte

Hi everyone, spent last night & tonight at Naracoorte, again a lovely little SA town.  Today I went to the World Heritage listed caves, famous because of the fossils found there, some over half a million years old.  Tomorrow we are back in Victoria, one night in Horsham, then to Mildura & Swan Hill for a few nights, then down to Ballarat, almost the end of the great adventure!

Two different dwellings in the park, I especially loved the "Gypsy Van" on the left, once stayed in one very similar in NZ.

Mega Fauna, can't remember the Latin name, but basically a big wombat!

Inside the Visitor Centre at Naracoorte Caves.

Flat faced kangaroo

A face only a mother could love!

Giant kangaroo- over 2.5 metres high

Below- into the caves!

Mirror Pool, very hard to capture but the stalactites above are reflected in the pool below.

Columns - where stalactites meet stalagmites over thousands of years.

Bones of extinct animals in the fossil cave, below some photos of Naracoorte.

Swimming lake at Naracoorte, size of 7 Olympic swimming pools.  I want one!
