Gerroa is a little village on the coast 60 or so kms east of Nowra it has two caravan parks and two shops
Hi.
We are now a lovely little seaside town called Gerroa, about 50 mins south of Wollongong. As usual we are 50 metres from the beach (7 Mile Beach), grand sweep of beach where we can see right back to Jervis bay. The mountains to the west look very forbiding, then beautiful green hills & valleys sweep down to the coast. The vegetation is semi tropical, there are very few Autumn leaves like in Victoria. The weather continues to be great, cool mornings, sunny about 11am and cool evenings. We had a nice day on the beach yesterday, & today drove up into the hills-fantastic views. There are a couple of very pretty towns nearby, especially Kiama, with old buildings & 2 blowholes. The big blowhole "Big Blowhole") is quite spectacular, the smaller one ("Little Blowhole") is really just a crack in the rocks but still worth a look.
We went for a drive to Wollongong a couple of days ago. It is a small city & really overdeveloped, I was dissappointed but glad we went. The Port Kembla steelworks are there, although they are shutting down soon, approx 600 jobs will be lost. We will push through Sydney in a couple of weeks, then start to pick up the pace.
The dead get the best views
