A Day in Ballarat

Hi everyone,

We are still in Beaufort & having a very relaxing time.  The park filled right up after Boxing day and we are surrounded by lots of tents & vans.. Some of the set-ups are amazing, lots of extended families. Fires are permitted here & there are many 44 gallon drums blazing away at night. Once again, everyone is very friendly especially our neighbours who are here with their children & grandchildren.  They lent Graeme their remote controlled toy speedboat & we had lots of fun buzzing it around the lake. No luck with the fishing (apparentely it is the bait's fault!)

We went to Ballarat yesterday and had a picnic at Lake Wendouree then a visit to the botanical gardens, where they have a bust of every priminister.

Hope you all had a great Christmas.

We have arrived at Beaufort in Central victoria, the caravan park has a lake ajoining. Since arriving the weather has been at little chilly the next week is going to warm up.

Some good fishing ahead

Leaving PA tomorrow

Sad to be leaving Portarlington tomorrow.  We have been here 16 days & had a wonderful time. We have spent a lot of time sitting outside & looking out over the water, lots of dolphins about. Generally pretty good weather. I bought an inflatable shark & have had lots of fun paddling around on it! As usual we have met lovely friendly people.  Tomorrow we head to Beaufort (not far from Ballarat) then down via Gippsland and then onto NSW.

Leaving Anglesea and kicking back at Portarlington

Ginny doing the final check of van and truck, then took time out for a photo shoot.

Below are some great shoots of the beach area, we are only 8 meters from the water.

The Jetty and Youyangs can be noticed in the pics.

Time for some good old fashion relaxation just count the ships go by
